The IMPACT program is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the financial and subcontract management process for projects under the IMPACT program. The preferred candidate will have familiarity with processing financial transactions using online systems and understand the subcontract/contractual process.
The Program Coordinator ensures the effective, compliant, & efficient daily management of research operational, financial, & business functions in support of the business area’s mission & in coordination with program administrator and central offices such as OSR, ASRSP, HR, Budget, Facilities, & IT. Provides support in reviewing & recommending policy & procedure designed to enhance operational excellence of a program in order to ensure success.
ISGMH was created in 2015 to be a leader in research that improves the health and wellbeing of the sexual and gender minority (SGM) community and foster understanding of the development and experience of SGM people. The institute provides unique opportunities for high-level research and training for the next generation of SGM scholars, and it utilizes innovative modalities to disseminate knowledge widely to the SGM community, the public at large, scholars, service providers, educators, and policymakers.

- Supports & ensures that day-to-day operations are appropriately coordinated, efficient and effective.
- Develops, maintains & reports on quantitative and qualitative performance measures.
- Manages documentation of agreements between NU and partner organizations, ensuring that agreements are completed, appropriately reviewed, approved, and adhered to by all parties.
- Acts as liaison to IT to ensure technology systems are properly installed & maintained & meet the informational, analytical & computing needs of users.
- Ensures necessary hardware, software & network infrastructure services are appropriated from central or internal IT.
- Budgets & Financial
- Supports accurate, efficient and compliant workflow of all transactional processes across areas/units.
- Creates & support finances, budget, associated analysis & reports.
- Trains on and enhances internal daily, monthly & annual processes.
- Reviews exceptions forms and reimbursements that require special attention.
- Recommends changes to tools to improve analysis, forecasting, modeling & reporting & ultimately quality of financial information & analyses provided to management for planning, evaluating & controlling operations.
- Collaborates with internal/external partners to implement changes designed to improve/increase program/project goals/objectives.
- Manages planning and arrangement of meetings, workshops, events, etc. designed to exchange information, promote research objectives, and to build internal and external relationships within ISGMH.
- Manages event details including communication, venues, presenters, travel arrangements, materials, refreshments and technology are arranged and completed in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Grants & Contracts
- Responsible for completing pre- & post-award administration of research grants &/or contracts.
- Builds relationships with Principal Investigators (PIs) & NU research associated offices
- Transfers knowledge & advises on research policy & procedure.
- Manages administrative process of subcontracts and contracts funded on sponsored projects.
- Human Resources
- Manages recruitment & selection process; Performance Excellence plan for each employee; & merit increase process.
- Applies HR policy to maximize effectiveness of HR administration to meet strategic plan objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Supports development & implementation of processes & procedures for all safety, security & compliance programs.
- Supports dissemination of compliance policies in accordance with all applicable federal, state, local & NU laws, regulations, policies & procedures.
- Develops the creation &/or supports implementation of associated training.
- Strategic Planning
- Supports implementation of strategic plans.
- Coordinate planning with institute leadership & key faculty & staff.
- Provides advice & counsel & recommends changes & improvements to functional operations to better meet organizational needs & objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting, finance, or related field; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
- 2 years program/project administration or other relevant experience.

- Experience or interest working on LGBT issues.
- 1 year research administration + 2 year financial or administrative support experience in a research environment (total of 3 years).
- Knowledge of NU IT systems and processes.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
- 1 year supervisory experience.
- Experience working in public health, psychology, and/or medical research.
