Dr. Brian Mustanski Receives APA Division 44 Award for Distinguished Contribution to Education and Training

We are delighted to announce that the American Psychological Association has selected ISGMH’s Director, Dr. Brian Mustanski, as the recipient of the Division 44 Award for Distinguished Contribution to Education and Training. Division 44, the Society for the Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity, grants this award to those who have made outstanding contributions to disseminating science and scholarship on LGBTQ issues.

Brian is the founder of the National LGBTQ Health Conference, co-hosted by ISGMH and the Center on Halsted, which convenes scientists, public health professionals, and healthcare providers to improve SGM health. He is also the co-principal investigator of the first Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) funded LGBTQ health training grant. Brian has mentored dozens of psychology interns and post-doctoral fellows from numerous disciplines who have continued onto careers in LGBTQ health. In 2011, he also received the Division 44 Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award for his contributions to the field of LGBTQ psychology.
