Project Management

Project Management describes the process of planning and executing a temporary event such as a research study. This process requires the use of skills, knowledge, and tools (e.g. software, spreadsheets, job aids) to manage a broad range of study activities. Project management is typically supervised at ISGMH by Project Coordinators.

Project Coordinators develop study related procedures, manuals and materials, and collaborate with ISGMH faculty and staff with regards to participant contact and tracking including the management of the initial contact, screening, scheduling of participants, compensation and administrative duties associated with running longitudinal studies and social-behavioral cohort research.

Project Coordinators train and work closely with Research Assistants and interns to manage daily tasks, and may also track and manage tasks completed by off-site collaborators (e.g. community based organizations, multisite study university sites, local health departments). In addition to daily tasks, Project Coordinators are responsible for keeping track of the study timeline and higher level tasks that are key to achieving study aims and goals.
