Reporting to the associate director, the grant writer is responsible for writing proposals to funding agencies including federal, state, foundation and corporation. The candidate should have a proven track record in producing successful grant proposals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and secure funding from sponsors.
- Write proposals, reports, letters of inquiry, briefing materials for meetings and site visits and other documents.
- Identify new potential funders including foundations, state and federal sources, corporate funders to grow the giving pipeline.
- Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Proven grant-writing abilities with 5-years of experience in positions with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Familiarity working with foundations, state and federal funders, as well as corporate and individual donors.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time driven deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize competing deadlines, and be resourceful in engaging necessary staff and resources to find expedient, effective solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven record of preparing a variety of documents / materials.
Required education: Bachelor’s degree
